In October 2008 I had to find other carer because my other Carer, Ella left me.
So I asked Qualcare if they could put an advertisement in the job search. I waited for about 1 month.
Kerrie answered it and she rang Qualcare. They gave her my information so she could contact me. Luckily Kerrie added me
on MSN, because Qualcare had given me the wrong mobile number for her. I had sent her an SMS. I was waiting for few days for
a reply, but I think Kerrie had looked at my website because she decided to MSN me.
We then chatted on MSN for about 1 hour. She sent a photo of herself to me. I liked her, but then she said I am Army wife¯.
I said to myself Oh shit no way other Army wife¯ I thought about it for 5 minutes - I decided to say yes¯ to Kerrie, and we
arranged to meet the next day! This is how our friendship started.
I have known Kerrie for 11 months now, for which period she's also been my Personal Carer. She helps me and my mum lots
and she is a very, very good and perfect carer. She also a very, very good and perfect friend to me.! Kerrie is a really,
really fun and funny person! We have lots of fun together! We go to out for lunch and we just chat.
I met her Dad, too. He is a very nice man, and we went to play pokies and meet her husband and step-son. They are very
nice! I also met her best friend, Becky. She came out from Japan for 2 weeks too in this time. We went to lunch a few times
and we had lots of laughs.
There is only thing that sticks in my mind about Kerrie. She would ride her bicycle in the morning to get to my place.
Even in the icy-cold mornings!
When I called her for emergency care, she was always available for me!
I received an email from Kerrie, she said to me:
ā€œI have something I have to tell you - I am pregnant. My baby is due early April 08.¯ I said, WOW UNCLE CARLO
again!! I was happy for Kerrie and few weeks later (27th October) I received an email from Kerrie, I have some news I have
to tell you. I am going to have to be a typical army wife and tell you that Len and I will be leaving Wodonga in December
because Len has been offered an early promotion from the Army.¯ I thought that she'd stay with me for a little bit longer.
Oh well, I really enjoyed Kerrie. We had lot of fun and laughs together and I made other real best friend.
