How I met Carlo
I was looking for some part time work and so I asked my friend Rebecca said she was leaving a job that was a great position.
Bec explained to me what the work would be and that Carlo was a really nice and friendly guy.
So I applied for the position I was very curious about Carlo and how he communicated as Rebecca had told me a little bit
about it.
I contacted Qual Care and they passed on my information to Carlo and then I received a text from Carlo. I was very excited
when I got the text and replied straight away. We chatted on MSN for a while and then organised to meet.
I was a bit nervous about meeting as I didn't know what to expect and wondered how easy Carlo would be to communicate
with.
I soon found out that Carlo is a very intelligent man who has a fantastic mind when it comes to computers. Carlo fixed
my pc for me as it had been giving me trouble for a while and he wouldn't take any payment for the work he did he did it all
free of charge which surprised me and for which I was very grateful.
Carlo and I have had many conversations and we have enjoyed each others company greatly and will continue to do so for
many years to come.
Carlo has met my daughter and they get along very well Rosie was a bit unsure at first but now she laughs and plays with
Carlo. Carlo was very flexible with my daughter and I and allowed her to come to work and sit with his beautiful mother Giovanna
who spoils Rosie with ice cream and biscuits.
Carlo always remembers to say hi to Rosie when ever he sends me a text and Rosie smiles when I tell her she likes being
remembered.
Then in January I told Carlo that I could no longer work for him as I needed more of a full time position. I found it
very hard to tell Carlo this but he understood and we will always remain friends which is great because Carlo is a friend
worth having he is very understanding and has a great sense of humour that I really like.
I had a lot of fun working with Carlo and he opened my eyes to what people with a disability can achieve as Carlo does
a huge amount with very little movement. I have been inspired by Carlo and if ever I think that I cant achieve something
or its all too hard I think of Carlo who never complains but just takes life in his stride and focuses on what he CAN do not
what he cant.
